Commemorations of World Water Day in Lubango

Under the auspices of the service contract for the management, operation and maintenance of the water supply systems of the province of Huíla, Angola, AdP Internacional took responsibility for the commemorations program for World Water Day, celebrated on 22 March in the city of Lubango.

The program extended over three days and contained activities targeting a diverse range of publics. Particular highlights include the commemorative session on 22 March featuring the participation of the EPASHuíla Board, members of the Provincial Government, figures from local universities and the media. This occasion served to launch the new EPASHuíla - Empresa Provincial de Água e Saneamento da Huila website (www.epashuila.ao) and the corresponding Facebook page, essential digital tools to enable the company to reach out to its clients and that were developed by an AdP Internacional team of experts.

Another dimension involved a visit to two public schools for the distribution of the children’s book “A Aventura da Mãe Água” to around 250 children in the 4th grade, raising awareness about the important of preserving hydric resources.

The initiative took place within the scope of the service contract AdP Internacional established in 2020 with the National Water Board of Angola with the objective of converting EPASHuíla into a company focused on performance, financially independent and technically sustainable, capable of ensuring the continuity and quality of the services supplied by strengthening its technology components and empowering human resources as well as boosting the commercial and marketing management and the administration of the financial and information technology departments.

With a four-year duration, this project is financed by the World Bank and the Agence Française de Developpement and involves the deployment of six leading AdP Internacional specialists in Angola.
